The US China Outstanding Contribution Award is an initiative of the prominent and visionary Chinese and Americans who are gathered in support of bi-lateral friendship, and devoted to the promotion of peaceful co-existence and development. The award ceremony is orchestrated and supervised by the US-China Business Association (USCN) in a fair and just setting to recognize the contribution by outstanding figures in both countries. The US China Outstanding Contribution Award was first established in 2010. Its purpose is to recognize people in China and the United States for their outstanding contribution in the fields of politics, economy, commerce, culture and arts, and science and technology exchanges. This recognition helps to further promote exchanges in various fields, in order to achieve mutually beneficial development in a win-win situation via deepening bi-lateral understanding and friendship. The US China Outstanding Contribution Awards are granted in diplomacy, economy, media, culture & art, etc. The first US China Outstanding Contribution Award Ceremony was held at Shanghai Jiaotong University in May 2011.
The US China Outstanding Contribution Award is free from the influence of any government, political parties, organizations, media or public opinions in its process of research, nomination, selection, verification, voting and confirmation. Award winners are eligible to be honorary life members, life advisory board members or honorary life co-chairmanship of the US China Business Association. The Award candidates research is conducted once a year with awards bestowed to the recipients at the award ceremony in the following year.
